In a bid to provide insights into career opportunities within the justice system, the Berufs-Informations-Zentrum (BiZ) in Solingen is hosting an event on Thursday, August 29th, at 4:00 PM. This event offers a chance for individuals interested in vocational training and studies to learn more about entry and training paths in the middle and upper levels of the justice system in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).

The event will feature presentations on various trainings, including the dual study to become a Diplom-Verwaltungswirt, jobs in the general prison service, workshop service, nursing service, and more. For those seeking a new career path in the justice system, the event is open to adults who have already completed training, with a maximum age of 40 for training candidates.

The dual study in the justice system lasts 3 years and includes theoretical training at the Justice Prison School in Wuppertal and practical training in various justice institutions across NRW. For those interested in the dual study, an Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, or equivalent education is required. Candidates for the dual study must not be 39 years old at the time of admission.

After training, civil servants in the general prison service supervise and care for prisoners, those in the workshop service train prisoners in various professions, and those in the nursing service work in nursing or prisoner supply. Diplom-Verwaltungswirte, on the other hand, ensure smooth cooperation among staff to maintain security and order in prisons. They are involved in decisions on measures that affect prisoners, prepare disciplinary decisions against prisoners, and ensure the proper operation of work and training facilities.

Diplom-Verwaltungswirte are active in all areas of a prison, shaping various aspects of prisoner accommodation, supply, care, and work. They organize the entire administration and business processes in the institution.

To apply for training in the justice system in NRW, one must have at least a Hauptschulabschluss with completed training or Fachoberschulreife. For the workshop service, a master's degree is required, and for the nursing service, a state exam as a health and nursing professional is necessary.

Christoph Schmidt, a member of the recruitment office for the justice system, emphasised that justice system work is more than just locking up prisoners, and the main goal is to reintegrate prisoners into society after release. Last year, over 230 new recruits were hired in the middle and upper levels of the justice system, and the same number is expected this year.

For inquiries about the event, contact the BiZ staff at 0212 / 2355 - 290. For inquiries about the dual study, contact the Recruitment Consultation Office for the Justice System at 0202 9457-2020 or [email protected]. Theory and practice alternate regularly during the training, with the Fachhochschule for the dual study located in Bad Münstereifel.

This event offers an excellent opportunity for those seeking a challenging and rewarding career in the justice system to gain valuable insights and ask questions about the various training paths available. Don't miss out on this chance to explore a career that makes a difference!
