Leapmotor Achieves Half-Year Profitability and Sets New Delivery Records
Leapmotor, a Chinese automobile manufacturer and new energy-vehicle (NEV) maker listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKG: 9863), has made significant strides in its business operations. The company is set to release the Leapmotor B10 model in Europe on September 8, 2025, with sales managed by Leapmotor International.
The financial report released last month by Leapmotor indicates robust sales growth over the past year. From January to August, the company delivered 328,859 vehicles, representing a year-on-year growth of 136.43 percent. This growth has significantly improved Leapmotor's financial position, leading to the company achieving a net income of RMB 30 million ($4.21 million) in the first half of 2025, marking its first positive half-year net income.
This is not the first time Leapmotor has surpassed the 50,000-unit threshold in monthly deliveries. In fact, it's the second time, and August marked the fourth consecutive month of record-breaking performance, with 57,066 vehicles delivered. Compared to July, August deliveries increased by 13.84 percent, and compared to the same month last year, the year-on-year increase was a staggering 88.31 percent.
Leapmotor's success is not limited to the B10 model. The company is also set to debut the Lafa 5, a new personalized strategy model, at the Munich auto show on September 8. An image shared by the company indicates that the Lafa 5 is a compact hatchback. As of the end of August, cumulative deliveries since inception reached 928,407 units.
Leapmotor's achievements make it the second Chinese NEV maker after Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) to achieve half-year profitability. This milestone, coupled with the successful launch of the B10 compact SUV in Europe on September 8, further cements Leapmotor's position as a key player in the global automotive industry.
