In a shocking turn of events, Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur was attacked, leaving him with a head injury and a fractured nose bone, as confirmed by the DMCH director. This incident has sparked widespread condemnation from various political groups in Bangladesh.

Zonayed Saki, chief coordinator of Ganosanhati Andolan, has called for a proper investigation into the attack, urging that the perpetrators be brought to justice. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has issued a statement condemning the attack, expressing concern for Nur's well-being and demanding justice.

Opposition political groups, including the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP), have accused the government of being involved in the attack. NCP leader Hannan Masud went as far as stating that there is a "government within the government." Sarjis Alam, chief organiser of NCP's northern region, believes there is a deeper conspiracy behind the attack and has called for strict action against "pro-Awami League agents" in the police.

Students Against Discrimination (SAD) and Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) have also issued separate statements condemning the attack on Nur. Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar strongly condemned the attack, expressing solidarity with Nur.

The BNP, in a statement, respects the right to peaceful political programs and strongly condemns any attack on lawful democratic activities. The opposition party has been actively protesting against the attack, with Gono Odhikar Parishad activists in Chattogram blocking a road to condemn the attack on their leaders.

The NCP staged a protest at Banglamotor intersection, demanding justice for Nur and accusing the government of being complicit in the attack. The protesters chanted slogans, including "Catch JaPa, jail them." Protesters also marched to the Chattogram Metropolitan Police's office, voicing their demands.

Tomorrow, the Election Commission of Bangladesh (EC) is scheduled to hold meetings with BNP, Jamaat, and NCP regarding elections and the current situation. It remains to be seen how the EC will address the concerns raised by the opposition parties regarding the attack on Nurul Haque Nur.

Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the BNP, has urged the government to launch a proper investigation into the incident. He has also called for the resignation of Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, if found to be involved in the attack.

As the investigation into the attack on Nurul Haque Nur continues, the political landscape in Bangladesh remains tense. The opposition parties are demanding justice, while the government has yet to make a public statement regarding the incident.
