Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons to Close for Historic Redevelopment in 2026

Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, the renowned Oxfordshire hotel and restaurant, will close for redevelopment in January 2026. Since its opening in 1984, the Belmond property has held two Michelin stars every year. The project aims to modernise the estate while keeping its heritage intact for future guests. Founded by chef Raymond Blanc, Le Manoir has long been celebrated for its garden-to-table dining and seasonal menus. The upcoming redevelopment will upgrade the accommodation, expand the culinary programme, and enhance the landscaped grounds. These changes will also reinforce the hotel's commitment to sustainable, seasonal cooking.

Before the temporary closure, Le Manoir will host a series of celebratory events. Blanc, who has led the property since its inception, will transition into the role of Lifetime Ambassador once the work is complete. The project aligns with Belmond's wider efforts to restore historic properties, following updates at Villa San Michele, Splendido, and Maroma. Construction is set to finish by summer 2027. Belmond has described the redevelopment as a balance between preserving tradition and meeting the expectations of a new generation.

The closure marks the first major renovation in Le Manoir's 40-year history. Once reopened, the hotel will continue its legacy of fine dining and luxury hospitality. Blanc's new role as ambassador ensures his influence remains central to its future direction.
