Layoffs Occur for 152 Trainees Recently Hired by BSZ Regensburger Land

On July 25th and 29th, a total of 152 students were bid farewell at the Vocational Training Center of the Regensburg Region, located at Plattlinger Straße 24, 93055 Regensburg. The center, operated by the Berufsbildungszentrum des Regensburger Landes GmbH (BBZ Regensburg), offers various training programs for professionals in fields such as childcare, social care, nutrition, and care.

During the ceremony, School Director Robert Troidl graduated future educators, childcare workers, pedagogical specialists for primary school childcare, social care workers, assistants for nutrition and care, and helpers for nutrition and care.

The Vocational School for Childcare at the Regensburg location saw 75 graduates, with training as a Childcare Worker on offer. The Vocational School for Nutrition and Care at the same location graduated 32 students, offering training as a State-certified Helper for Nutrition and Care in two years, and State-certified Assistant for Nutrition and Care/Household Manager in three years.

In a separate ceremony on July 29th, the Fachakademie für Sozialpädagogik in Pielenhofen also held a graduation, with a total of 36 students bidding farewell for vocational integration. The Fachschule für Grundschulkindbetreuung at the Regensburg and Pielenhofen locations offered training as a pedagogical specialist for primary school childcare, with a total of 6 graduates at the Regensburg location and 33 graduates at the Pielenhofen location.

The project, which intertwines training and practice, aims to make sustainability tangible for children. Mindfulness and care were emphasized as important values in daily life, particularly in social professions.

Bavarian State Minister Tanja Schweiger praised the open character of the school, stating it serves as a lively example of practice-oriented education. Additionally, the local BinE (Education for Sustainable Development) initiative, carried by the Fachakademie and the Waldkindergarten Pielenhofen, made it into the final round of the German -Prize 2025.
