Law enforcement providing safety guidelines

In the past week (21.07. to 27.07.2025), six burglaries have been reported to the Oberhausen Police, sparking concern among local residents. The perpetrator, whose identity remains unknown, has been targeting apartments in multi-family dwellings, ransacking cabinets, and presumably stealing valuable items.

The incident that caught the most attention occurred on Falkensteinstraße, where the perpetrator gained access to the stairwell of a building in an unknown manner. The perpetrator used an unknown object to force open the door of an apartment and ransacked several cabinets before fleeing unnoticed through the main entrance door in an unknown direction.

The police are urging all citizens to be vigilant and pay particular attention to strangers in the stairwell or on the property, especially in multi-family dwellings. If you notice any suspicious persons or situations, immediately inform the police via the emergency number 110.
