Law enforcement personnel assaulted, fatalities among police officers, several officers sustained injuries.
In a series of incidents that occurred over the past few days, several towns in the region have been affected by traffic accidents, assaults, and acts of vandalism.
In the small town of Hätsfeldsee, a 70-year-old truck driver was slightly injured in a traffic accident on the L2033. The accident, which involved the truck driver's vehicle and that of an oncoming 61-year-old, caused approximately 9500 Euros in total damage.
Unfortunately, the aftermath of the collision was not the end of the incident. A following 29-year-old Ford Transit driver, unable to stop in time, ran over the objects at the scene. Three more vehicles also sustained damage as a result.
In a separate incident, a 30-year-old man assaulted police officers around 23:15 on Wednesday in Durlangen. One police officer was slightly injured during the attack. The name of the officer who was injured is not publicly disclosed. The incident occurred in an apartment on Hermann-Löns-Weg, where the man was found shouting loudly. During the altercation, the man began insulting the officers and resisted when they attempted to handcuff him. He also spat in the direction of the officers.
Elsewhere, an unknown motorist damaged a wire mesh fence in Rötfeldstraße, Aalen, between 12:00 and 15:00 on Monday. The Aalen Police Station is accepting tips about this hit-and-run incident.
Another act of vandalism was reported in Volkmarsweg, Aalen, where a graffiti containing a green swastika was found on a recycling container. Witness statements regarding this incident can be made to the Aalen Police Station.
In a more unusual incident, a 64-year-old Mercedes driver lost two pairs of slip rollers from his boat trailer on the A7 highway around 13:45 on Wednesday. The Bopfingen Fire Department responded with two vehicles and six personnel, while the Neresheim Fire Department sent three vehicles and 12 personnel to the scene.
