Law enforcement officials took into custody an individual found driving a vehicle reported as stolen.
In the early hours of Saturday, September 6, a dramatic incident unfolded in the city of Witten, Germany. A 16-year-old resident of Bochum was at the centre of a high-speed chase that ended in a traffic accident.
The incident began in Bochum-Langendreer, where the police attempted to stop a car around 3:30 AM due to driving without lights. However, the driver ignored the stop signals and fled, leading the police on a chase through Bochum and into Witten.
The accident occurred in the area of the Hauptstraรe in Witten, where the car collided with a tree. The crashed vehicle, which was later found out to be stolen from Bochum city centre between September 4 and 5, was no longer roadworthy and was seized.
The driver, the 16-year-old from Bochum, was unharmed. However, the two passengers, also from Bochum and aged 16 and 20, suffered minor injuries. Tragically, two female passengers from Dortmund, aged 14 and 18, were severely injured and taken to the hospital.
The driver now faces a comprehensive criminal complaint, including charges of car theft, driving without a license, and endangering traffic. Moreover, the driver had an alcohol reading of 0.42 percent and a blood sample was taken for further analysis.
