Law enforcement officials detain alleged drug traffickers

In a significant development, German and Greek authorities, along with the Joint Narcotics Investigation Group Stuttgart, have successfully thwarted an attempted drug shipment from Spain to Germany.

The operation, initiated by a tip from the Greek police, led to the discovery of a truck in Süßen, district of Göppingen, on Thursday. The truck was found to contain approximately 300 kilograms of suspected cocaine, hidden in a tank of the vehicle.

The internationally active criminal group behind the smuggling attempt was swiftly identified, and the Public Prosecutor's Office Stuttgart, the State Criminal Police Office Baden-Württemberg, and the Customs Investigation Office Stuttgart announced the control.

Three men were arrested in connection with the discovery, including the 65-year-old truck driver. Arrest warrants were issued for the occupants of an escort vehicle on the same day. The occupants of the vehicle were aged 26 and 28.

A further investigation revealed that approximately 183,000 euros in cash were found in the escort vehicle. The exact origin of the truck and the drugs is not specified in the paragraph.

The tip about the attempted drug shipment was provided by a confidential informant to the Stuttgart Joint Narcotics Investigation Group. The authorities are continuing their investigation to dismantle the criminal network and bring those responsible to justice.
