Law enforcement is on the hunt for an unidentified culprit
The Bonn Police are on the hunt for an unknown suspect in two separate incidents that occurred on June 5, 2025.
In the first incident, an 89-year-old woman fell victim to telephone scammers in Bonn, Germany. The scammers used a shock call, claiming that the woman's son was involved in a serious traffic accident and needed bail. The Bonn Police are urging the public to stay vigilant against such scams and to report any suspicious calls to the authorities.

In a second incident, a jewelry theft took place at the Bonn König Museum on Adenauerallee. The unknown suspect was waiting on the sidewalk opposite the museum, in front of the Palais Schaumburg. The suspect tricked a woman into gathering several high-value pieces of jewelry, worth several thousand euros, and handing them over to an unknown suspect.
The handover took place at the König Museum on Bonn's Adenauerallee, and the suspect was recorded on video by the Palais Schaumburg's video surveillance system during the waiting time. The public prosecutor's office in Bonn has offered a reward of 2,000 euros for information that leads to the recovery of the stolen property or the identification of the unknown suspect. The Bonn Police are urging the public to come forward with any information that may help in the investigation.
