Law enforcement intervenes in Kalk hotspot, dealing with illicit substances in vehicles

In a significant development, a raid was conducted on a suspected drug dealer's residence in Cologne-Neubrueck. The residence belonged to Sermet A., a 23-year-old German-Iraqi who is considered the head of a drug trafficking gang in the Kalk district.

The raid was a continuation of the ongoing investigation into incidents involving a 31-year-old driver who was stopped by officers in Kalk, Cologne, on August 12th for driving without a license. It was discovered that the driver was under the influence of cannabis and cocaine, with approximately 12 grams of cocaine found in his possession.

During the raid, approximately 700 grams of cannabis, nearly 17 grams of cocaine, over 10,600 euros in various currencies, and numerous illegal weapons were seized. Sermet A. was brought before a judge following the raid.

The investigation into these incidents continues, with no new locations or suspects named. The 31-year-old driver is still facing charges including driving under the influence of intoxicants, driving without a license, and violating the narcotics law.

No new information was provided about the 31-year-old driver's current status in the investigation. The authorities have not revealed any new dates for the continuation of the investigation.
