In the early hours of Tuesday, unknown individuals gained entry to a café on Rittershofer Straße in Castrop-Rauxel and a building on Gildenstraße in Recklinghausen. The police headquarters in Recklinghausen is currently investigating these incidents.

The perpetrators on Rittershofer Straße pried open an overhead light to gain access to the café. Once inside, they took food from the kitchen and fled without being detected. No further loot was reported from the café.

In Recklinghausen, three masked individuals climbed over a wall onto a property on Gildenstraße at around 02:30 - 03:00 on Tuesday morning. They pried open the glazing of a window to gain entry into the building. The perpetrators took jewelry from the building and fled undetected. A resident was awakened by the noise made by the intruders.

The police headquarters in Recklinghausen has not provided any information about the potential involvement of multiple suspects or organized crime, the value of the stolen items, the current status or progress of the investigations, possible motives, or the descriptions of the perpetrators.
