The investigation centres around a 21-year-old Yemeni national who is suspected of transporting 43 third-country nationals from Slovakia to Germany in a rental truck in June 2023. The transportation involved Poland and the Czech Republic as transit countries.
The suspect was identified through the evaluation of secured DNA traces and witness statements. After the last trip, the suspect caused a traffic accident in Dresden and fled the scene. Today's operations involved approximately 60 federal police officers, including special forces from the Federal Reserve Police.
