Law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the primary reason behind the traffic collision.
The traffic service of the circular police authority in Borken is stepping up its efforts to combat and prevent speeding-related accidents in the coming week. This comes after a series of measurements taken in the past few days, which resulted in a significant number of violations.
In these measurements, the employees of the circular police authority recorded the speed of 7345 vehicles at 16 locations in the circular Borken. The results were stark, with around 15 percent of the vehicles recorded exceeding the permitted maximum speed.
One of the most severe cases was on the Amtsvennweg in Gronau, where a car was caught speeding at an alarming 123 km/h, far exceeding the maximum permitted speed of 70 km/h. Outside the city, a speed of 111 km/h was recorded on the L606 in Isselburg, instead of the maximum permitted 50 km/h. At the South circle - inner city, a speed of 99 km/h was recorded on the Hamalandstraße in Bocholt-Hemden, again, instead of the maximum permitted 50 km/h.
The location within Kreis Borken with the highest number of speeding violations in recent days was the L582 in Schöppingen, where a notable case involved a driver recorded at 109 km/h instead of the allowed 70 km/h. There were also particularly serious speed excesses at the North circle - inner city with 69 km/h on the Vennstraße in Gronau-Epe, instead of the maximum permitted 30 km/h.
These actions resulted in 11 driving bans, 241 administrative offence proceedings, and 825 warning fines. The Circular Police Authority Borken will continue its measurements to combat and prevent accidents in the coming week.
