In an swift response by the Bremen police and a vigilant witness, a 27-year-old graffiti vandal was apprehended on Sunday afternoon. The suspect was arrested in the heart of Bremen Old Town, following the spraying of a right-wing extremist symbol on the wall of the Wilhelm Wagenfeld House at Am Wall.

The graffiti, approximately one square meter in size, was sprayed on Sunday afternoon in Bremen Old Town. The symbol "318" was the mark of a banned right-wing extremist group "Combat 18". A spray can with matching paint was seized from the suspect.

After spraying the graffiti, the vandal fled on foot, but the quick reaction of the witness and the police led to the suspect's apprehension. The State Protection Department has taken over further criminal proceedings.
