Law enforcement agencies at the federal level carried out three arrests according to warrants issued over the weekend
On Sunday morning, the 23rd of February, 2025, a 52-year-old German citizen was stopped by officers from the Federal Police Inspectorate Konstanz. The incident occurred at the Inspectorate's premises.
The German citizen was traveling on the RE 4713 train shortly before Engen station. An outstanding arrest warrant was issued by the public prosecutor's office in Heilbronn against him, due to a penalty order issued by the local court in Öhringen in September 2024 for endangering traffic, amounting to €2,700. The man was unable to pay his fine on the spot, but he paid it later, thus avoiding a substitute prison sentence.
On Friday evening, a 28-year-old German citizen was stopped at the border crossing Bietingen / Thayngen. He had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the public prosecutor's office in Heilbronn as well, due to a penalty order for fraud issued by the local court in Öhringen in October 2023.
Another suspect was a 38-year-old Polish citizen stopped at the border crossing Gailingen on Saturday evening. He had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the public prosecutor's office in Görlitz. As a result, he was taken to the Konstanz detention center to serve a 30-day substitute prison sentence.
The Polish citizen had an outstanding penalty order issued by the local court in Bautzen in December 2023 for a violation of the compulsory foreign vehicle insurance law, amounting to €2,000.
