Stuttgart: Elderly Driver Crashes into Barrier on Pedestrian Bridge
On Friday, February 28, 2025, a 75-year-old Opel driver was involved in an accident on the Wilhelmsbrücke, a bridge in Stuttgart that only allows pedestrian and cyclist traffic. The incident occurred around 14:40 in the afternoon.
According to the Stuttgart Police Headquarters, the driver turned right onto the bridge from Überkinger Straße near Schönestraße, colliding with a barrier. The accident caused several thousand euros worth of damage.
The name of the driver, however, remains undisclosed at this time. Witnesses are urged to contact the police at the Martin-Luther-Straße police station under the number +4971189903600.
The Wilhelmsbrücke was not open to car traffic at the time of the accident.
