In a significant move to enhance security in the Bahnhofsvorstadt and Steintorviertel areas, the Bremen Police, in collaboration with the Ordnungsdienst, conducted extensive checks last week.

The operation, which saw the participation of additional forces, focused on monitoring the existing weapons ban zone and informing citizens about the weapons ban during the checks.

At Mecklenburger Platz, a knuckleduster was secured from a playground, while several knives, a knuckleduster, cannabis, and a tampered E-bike were seized during the operation. The driver of the seized E-bike was found to not have a license or insurance.

More knives were also seized during the operation, and a fast, technically tampered E-bike was seized in Breitenweg due to two traffic light violations.

The police showed a strong presence at central locations such as Hillmannplatz, Philosophenweg, and Tivoli. Several identifications were made during the operation, and 24 people were searched.

In total, over 60 people were checked during the operation. As a result, criminal and administrative offense reports were filed, and 15 people were issued with dispersal orders. Further dispersal orders were issued at Mecklenburger Platz.

A larger group of up to 40 people disrupted the police measures at an unspecified location.

The Bremen Police emphasizes that this action is part of an ongoing strategy to increase security in the Bahnhofsvorstadt and quarter area. Joint focus checks with partner authorities will continue in the future, both open and covert.

The partner authorities with which the Bremen police will conduct their future joint focus checks include the Customs Office, the Immigration Office, and the Traffic Office.

The operation serves as a reminder of the police's commitment to maintaining law and order in the city, and the importance of reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities.
