In a shocking turn of events, the Bonn Police have initiated an investigation into a suspected attempted homicide that occurred in Troisdorf on Tuesday, August 12.

The incident took place around 23:35, and the suspect, a 59-year-old man, was arrested by the Rhein-Sieg district police later that evening at the shared residence of the suspect and the victim, located in Troisdorf-Rotter See.

The victim, a 61-year-old woman, was found critically injured at the scene and was immediately taken to a hospital for intensive care. No updates on her condition have been provided as of yet.

The suspect was found with a suspected weapon at the scene. The ongoing investigation is being handled by a special homicide unit of the Bonn Police, led by Chief Inspector Rainer Müller.

Chief Inspector Müller is a seasoned officer with the Bonn Police, but there is currently no information available about his role in the investigation of this attempted murder in Bonn.

The investigation is being conducted in close coordination with Prosecutor Florian Geßler.
