Launching a fresh funding round with investment in BW
The Innovation funding program Invest BW is set to continue in 2025 and 2026, with a total budget of 149 million euros. The second funding call in 2025 will take place in the third quarter, focusing on the thematic areas of "Health and Life" and "Materials and Resources".
The application process for this call has been made more user-friendly. Companies, start-ups, and research institutions of any size can now submit their proposals from May 8, 2025, to July 8, 2025. The project sketch should be presented on a maximum of ten pages.
To help applicants, a web seminar will be held on May 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM. This seminar will explain the funding call and application process, answer questions, and provide guidance. Registration for the web seminar is available online.
The funding aims to support companies that want to exploit value creation potential in new application areas. It covers both technical and non-technical innovations, as well as new business models, process, and service innovations. Eligible thematic areas include "Virtual Worlds, Digital Twins, Blockchain and Cybersecurity", "Machine Building, Robotics, Security and Defense", "Health and Life", and "Materials and Resources".
Since 2021, Invest BW has funded 839 projects with a total volume of 916 million euros and a funding sum of around 330 million euros. The funding sum for the implementation of successful project ideas from these thematic areas is 16 million euros.

The submitted projects will be evaluated based on established funding criteria and competitive aspects. The deadline principle applies to the application process, and applications can be submitted until October 10, 2025, 1 p.m.
