Last night's IOPC VI triumphs: Sriharsha D claims double victories!
Winning big at the poker table never gets old, especially when you're racking up titles like nobody's business. Day 6 of the massive 2020 India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) saw India's rising star, Sriharsha D, triumphant more times than one might expect during a single day. Known as 'Fish2050' among the poker community, this determined player pocketed three titles in the ongoing series, leaving the competition in the dust.
So, let's rewind and get the lowdown on the champions of the day...
IOPC Event #31 (INR 4.5 Lakhs GTD)
The first tournament of the day attracted 881 players, with entry as low as INR 550. The top 63 finishers pocketed their min-cash of INR 1,957, and the victory went to Vivek Karwa (alias 'acchemicals'), who outplayed 'Modesto23' in a thrilling heads-up match. When the chips were on the line, Vivek's 2h turned into a second pair, giving him the upper hand against his opponent's lower pair.
Catching up with the champ, he shared, "My game has improved thanks to the mentorship of Abhishek Goindi and Tanay Hargunaney, and their constant belief in me is the driving force!"
IOPC Event #32 - Afternoon Hi-Fi (INR 4 Lakhs GTD)
Moving up the stakes, the next tournament collected a total of 503 players, with each contributing INR 1,100. The prize pool surpassed the advertised guarantee to become a hefty INR 5.03 Lakhs, and players in the top 39 positions earned their min-cash of INR 3,470. This tournament concluded with a heads-up deal, with 'riverismine' holding the advantage over Ishaan Bhatia aka 'potripper16' in the runner-up spot.

The lower buy-in tournament attracted 637 players, surpassing the guarantee to earn a prize pool of INR 3.18 Lakhs. The top 47 players earned a min-cash of INR 1,815, but the biggest share went to Nachiket (alias 'psyberlyon'), who outmaneuvered 'TrumpCard' using a pair of Queens and Jacks, while the latter had to settle for a single pair of Fives.
IOPC Event #34 - Destiny 13.0 (INR 30 Lakhs GTD)
Day 6 ended with the popular Destiny 13.0 (INR 30 Lakhs GTD) tournament, and it's no surprise that Sriharsha D, having won the recent IOPC Event #12 - Mega Freeze (INR 10 Lakhs GTD), found himself back in the winner's circle. Sriharsha bested a field of 896 entries, securing his spot in the Destiny SnG Finale and defeating Abhishek Kumar aka 'allout1' in the process.
IOPC Event #35 - Daily Hi-Fi (INR 15 Lakhs GTD)
Takeover complete! Rating high in confidence, Sriharsha D continued his winning streak in the final tournament of the day. With an entry fee of INR 3,300, a total of 636 players joined the field, making the prize pool a whopping INR 15 Lakhs. As the "2020 BPT Kick-off Event runner-up," Sriharsha once again showed his dominance by eliminating 'tullupump' in the runner-up position following a heads-up deal.
