Landshut’s Week of Children’s Rights Unites Play, Learning and Advocacy

Landshut will celebrate the Week of Children’s Rights from November 10 to 16. The event brings together local institutions and offers a range of activities for different age groups. The City Center will offer creative workshops for children, while the library hosts a play and creativity afternoon. Elementary schools can attend a children’s rights theatre performance at the old barracks.

The KASiMiR museum will run a workshop where children create self-portraits under the theme ‘Who am I? Who do I want to be?’ Meanwhile, the university will hold a children’s university session titled ‘Your rights count’. A writing competition and a children’s rights award will also form part of the week’s events.

For professionals, a conference for child daycare workers is scheduled. The week concludes with an adult-focused event at the KOENIG museum on November 20 at 5:30 PM. Organised by UNICEF, it will feature an impulse lecture on diversity.

Landshut, recognised as a child-friendly municipality, is collaborating with local youth services and UNICEF to deliver the programme.

The Week of Children’s Rights aims to engage young people through theatre, workshops, and competitions. It also provides training for professionals and a closing discussion for adults. The event highlights the city’s ongoing commitment to supporting children’s rights and participation.
