Borussia Dortmund's Sensational New Signings Shine in 3-0 Victory
Borussia Dortmund secured a commanding 3-0 win against 1. FC Union Berlin, with two standout performances from their latest signings, Aaron Anselmino and Serhou Guirassy.
Anselmino, a 20-year-old Argentine U20 international defender, made his courageous debut for the team, having limited playing experience prior to the game. The new signing from Chelsea had only one appearance in the English reserve league and two minutes at the Club World Cup in the USA this season. Despite the lack of extensive playing time, Anselmino impressed Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, who praised the loan deal as a good catch.
Meanwhile, Guirassy, on loan from Chelsea, continued his impressive form in the Bundesliga. The striker scored a double in the match, taking his tally to 18 goals for the season, surpassing Bayern Munich's super striker Harry Kane's 15 goals. Coach Niko Kovac praised Guirassy's performance, calling it world-class and sensational, while captain Julian Brandt compared his will to score to that of former BVB striker star Erling Haaland.
Kovac also singled out Guirassy as a very important player for the team, and Brandt referred to him as the "door opener" in their game against Union Berlin.
Despite the success of the new signings, Kehl expects a quiet last transfer day, with it unlikely that another player will be signed on Monday. Midfielder Salih Özcan might find a new club, but Kehl mentioned that it's unlikely.
In addition to Anselmino and Guirassy, Dortmund have brought in Fábio Silva from Wolverhampton and Carney Chukwuemeka, who is on loan from Chelsea. The new additions have bolstered Dortmund's squad, and fans will be eager to see them continue their impressive form in upcoming matches.
