Konica Minolta expresses deep sadness over the demise of Joerg W. Hartmann.
In a sad turn of events, Joerg W. Hartmann, the former President of Konica Minolta for Germany and Austria, has passed away. Hartmann, who had been with the company for over a decade, leaves behind a legacy of visionary leadership and significant contributions to the company's growth and digital transformation.
Hartmann started his career at Fujitsu Siemens Computers in 2001, after completing a physics degree. He spent 15 years at Fujitsu, holding various positions, including Vice President, Head of Product Category Management EMEIA Region, and the head of the Consumer Business Germany.
In 2007, Hartmann moved to Konica Minolta, where he quickly rose through the ranks. He became the President for Germany and Austria in November 2019, following the departure of Johannes Bischof. Prior to joining Konica Minolta, Hartmann had reported directly to Bischof at Fujitsu.
During his tenure at Konica Minolta, Hartmann oversaw various areas including Sales, Marketing, Service, Supply Chain Management, and Business Administration & Acquisition. He continued the strategic direction and accelerated the digital transformation within the company. Hartmann's leadership significantly shaped Konica Minolta over the years, and he served as the Chief Operating Officer since November 2018.
Konica Minolta paid tribute to Hartmann on LinkedIn, highlighting his visionary foresight, drive, and human warmth. The company is accepting condolences by mail at the following address: Family Hartmann, c/o Konica Minolta Business Solutions Deutschland GmbH, Europaallee 17, 30855 Langenhagen.
The funeral for Joerg W. Hartmann was held in a small family circle. Thomas Dieckmann is the successor responsible for direct sales Germany & Austria at Konica Minolta, but there is no direct information stating he succeeded Hartmann as president after his death.
Before joining Konica Minolta, Hartmann had a brief stint at Research in Motion (RIM), the Blackberry manufacturer, as Director Channels & Distribution EMEA. He returned to Fujitsu in 2011 and took over the responsibility for the "Workplace Systems" business within the sales organization.
Our thoughts are with Hartmann's family and friends during this difficult time. His contributions to Konica Minolta and the technology industry will be deeply missed.
