Koblenz Museum Celebrates Women's Day with Art, Music and Community Spirit

The Mittelrhein Museum in Koblenz will host a special event on International Women's Day, March 8, 2026. The free afternoon programme begins at 3:00 p.m. and celebrates women's contributions through art, music, and community initiatives. Local organisations have teamed up to make the occasion both cultural and inspiring.

The event forms part of the museum's current exhibition, The Dream of Painting: Bertha Falckenberg (1867–1951). Art historian Peter Paul Pisters will lead visitors through the showcase, highlighting the work of the late artist.

Live music will feature violinist Loreley Lerui Yuan, a student at the Koblenz School of Music. Her performance will add a creative touch to the afternoon's celebrations.

Two women's organisations will also take part. Soroptimist International Koblenz/Rhine will present its social projects in the region. Meanwhile, the Zonta Club Koblenz will award the Young Women in Leadership Award (YWLA) to a local volunteer for her dedication to community service.

After the talks and performances, guests can enjoy a reception with refreshments. Matthias Knebel Winery will provide drinks and light bites to close the event.

The museum and its partners have opened the event to all, with free admission for both the exhibition and programme. The collaboration between cultural institutions, women's groups, and a music school marks a community-focused way to honour International Women's Day. Organisers hope the afternoon will draw attention to local talent and ongoing social efforts in Koblenz.
