In a significant move to bolster ties between the two nations, King of Jordan Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein is paying an official visit to Kazakhstan on Aug. 26-27. The visit, at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, follows President Tokayev's trip to Amman, which laid a solid foundation for enhancing relations between the two nations.

During the visit, various bilateral agreements and collaborations are expected to be formalized. One such agreement is between Sana Farm and Kazakh Inkar Group, aimed at boosting agricultural trade. The distribution agreement, initiated during earlier talks, is set to be finalized at the upcoming business forum.

In the realm of education, Astana IT University and Hussein Technical University have launched an educational partnership. The first Jordanian students are already enrolled in Kazakh programs, with this initiative expected to expand academic exchanges and foster stronger ties between young professionals in both countries.

The upcoming talks in Astana will address issues of regional and international security, including efforts to stabilize the Middle East, as well as enhanced coordination within international organizations. In addition, Kazakh Astana Hub and Jordan's King Hussein Business Park have implemented a memorandum aimed at supporting joint IT projects and startups.

Urban development and modernization initiatives are also on the agenda, with Kazakh BI Construction Group preparing to sign agreements with Jordan's Amman Vision Investment & Development (AVID) and the Jordan Security Investment Fund.

The peaceful use of nuclear energy is another area of interest, with a memorandum of understanding signed between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy and the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission in February. Jordan has also confirmed its readiness to subsidize the initial phase of a planned direct flight route between Astana and Amman, scheduled to begin in June 2026, operating twice a week.

In the pharmaceutical and medical sectors, Jordan's Sana Pharma and other companies have expressed strong interest in entering the Kazakh market. A new area of cooperation between Jordan's DadVet and Kazakh KazbioPharm is the export of Kazakh veterinary vaccines. This collaboration has progressed since the February discussions.

A working group has been formed between the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture and Jordan's Ministry of Industry and Trade to facilitate Kazakh wheat exports to Jordan. Additionally, Jordan's Aljazeera Agricultural is preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture to establish a pedigree poultry reproduction facility in Kazakhstan.

The Kazakhstan-Jordan Business Forum, scheduled to take place in Astana, will bring together around 300 entrepreneurs and investors from both countries. The forum is expected to mark a new stage in strengthening political dialogue and expanding strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Jordan.

However, details about which companies were represented at the signing of the Kazakhstan-Jordan Business Forum on August 26, 2023, in Astana could not be found in relevant search results. Nonetheless, the upcoming visit and the subsequent agreements promise to deepen the bonds between Kazakhstan and Jordan in various sectors.
