Kim Jong-un publicly showcases his young daughter, aged 12, while concealing the alleged true successor to his leadership - a secretly Western-educated son.

Kim Jong Un, the current leader of North Korea, has been making headlines recently, not only for his political alliances but also for the presence of his 12-year-old daughter, Kim Ju Ae, during a visit to China's military parade.

Kim Jong Un, the younger son of Kim Jong Il, was chosen as the successor over his elder brothers, and his ties with autocratic leaders such as Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin have been well-documented. His relationship with Putin, in particular, has led to the supply of arms and soldiers to aid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Kim Jong Un's elder brother, Kim Jong Nam, was tragically killed in a nerve agent poisoning in 2017 in Malaysia, an incident that many analysts believe was carried out on Kim Jong Un's orders.

Kim Jong Un and Kim Yo Jong, his sister and a key figure in North Korea's politics, studied abroad in Switzerland during their youth. However, unlike Kim Yo Jong, Kim Ju Ae's role in North Korea's politics remains unclear.

The appearance of Kim Ju Ae at the military parade sparked speculation that she is being groomed as a potential successor for Kim Jong Un. South Korean spies have reported that Kim Ju Ae is in training to take the reigns of North Korea, but some analysts, such as Representative Park Jie-won, have expressed doubts about her being first in line to succeed Kim Jong Un.

Representative Park Jie-won of the Democratic Party believes that Kim Jong Un may have another heir in mind for the leadership of North Korea. He stated that Kim Ju Ae is not likely to be Kim Jong Un's successor.

Despite these speculations, very little is known about the internal politics of North Korea, as the regime is riddled with secrecy. Some reports suggest that Kim Ju Ae's presence at the military parade was to cover up potential details about his son's whereabouts.

One thing is certain: Kim Jong Un undoubtedly "likes" his daughter, but the question of her being the successor "is not a matter to be watched". The future of North Korea remains shrouded in mystery, with the world eagerly watching for any signs of change.
