The Donate Life Kentucky Trust, founded by the Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks in 1992, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving and healing lives. The Trust leads statewide education, outreach, and registration efforts through partnerships, events, digital campaigns, and philanthropy.
John Middleton, Circuit Clerk of Kenton County, expressed his pride in these students, stating that their efforts are creating a ripple effect of hope throughout Kentucky's communities. He further added that the scholarship is one way to continue the lifesaving mission education started more than 30 years ago.
The projects of these winners are as varied as the students themselves. They range from school-wide awareness campaigns to social media advocacy, public speeches, and advocating in Frankfort. Each student has shown a personal commitment to the organ donation and transplantation mission.
Shelley Snyder, Executive Director of the Donate Life Kentucky Trust, stated that their support continues to grow a culture of generosity in all 120 counties of Kentucky. Despite driver's license services transitioning to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the Circuit Clerks remain passionate champions of the Donate Life mission.
The Donate Life Kentucky Trust is funded by contributions through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and generous partners. The Trust works alongside Network for Hope, Donate Life America, and Kosair for Kids to raise awareness, increase registrations, and support families throughout the donation & transplant journey.
Over 90% of Kentucky's 2 million+ registered organ donors signed up through the Circuit Clerk's office. The Association has raised over $20 million for education and awareness since its inception.
