In the heart of Stuttgart, Germany, the Pariser Platz next to the Milaneo plays host to a unique event that has been a beacon for K-Pop fans since 2016 - the K-Pop Random Dance. This annual gathering is a testament to the global popularity of K-Pop, with groups like BTS and Stray Kids leading the charge since 2018.

The event, organised by volunteer organiser Jules, is built on a foundation of respect. This ethos is evident in every aspect, making the K-Pop Random Dance a one-of-a-kind experience. Jules takes care of permits, social media communication, and on-site planning, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

For many fans, the journey to Stuttgart is worth it. Micky, a K-Pop enthusiast from Oberhausen, travels to the event, joining around 100 to 200 dancers who regularly attend. Sam, a 21-year-old from Mannheim, appreciates the safe and friendly atmosphere at the Random Dance, finding learning choreographies easy and enjoying the opportunity to dance in the middle if they know the moves.

The dances at the event are filmed and shared on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, providing a glimpse into the vibrant energy and camaraderie that characterises the Random Dance. The playlist, usually published a few weeks in advance, includes excerpts from various K-Pop songs, allowing dancers to prepare and learn the official choreographies that are available for fans.

The Random Dance on Pariser Platz is more than just a dance event; it's an expression of a young subculture that embodies style, creativity, and tolerance. It's a place where many young people under 18 come to meet new people, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Even outside the dance floor, the influence of K-Pop can be felt. The film "KPop Demon Hunters" has reached the K-Pop community in Stuttgart, adding another layer to the cultural exchange that takes place at the event.

Organiser Jules emphasises that tolerance towards all people is a key aspect of the Random Dance. Discrimination or bullying have no place at the event, creating an environment where everyone can feel welcome and celebrated.

As the city of Berlin organises the annual "K-Pop Random Dance" event at Tempelhofer Feld, the Stuttgart edition continues to thrive, offering a vibrant and inclusive space for K-Pop fans to come together and celebrate their shared passion.
