June 2021 Job Report by nTIDE: Major employment indicators near pre-pandemic levels

The Kessler Foundation, a leading nonprofit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with neurological disabilities, is set to release the latest edition of the National Trends in Disability Employment (nTIDE) report on Friday, July 23, at 12:00 pm Eastern.

The upcoming nTIDE report will present two significant graphics: "nTIDE Month-to-Month Employment Numbers for People with and without Disabilities" and "nTIDE Year-to-Year Comparison of Economic Indicators for People with and Without Disabilities." These graphics will compare economic indicators for May 2021 and June 2021, as well as June 2020 and June 2021, respectively.

The nTIDE statistics are based on Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers, but are customised to combine the statistics for men and women of working age (16 to 64). This comprehensive approach provides a clearer picture of the employment trends for individuals with and without disabilities in the United States.

The nTIDE report for June 2021 reveals an encouraging sign of economic recovery. While the labor force participation rate rose for people without disabilities, it remained unchanged for people with disabilities. This disparity underscores the ongoing challenges faced by individuals with disabilities in the labour market.

For more information about the nTIDE, please contact Carolann Murphy at [email protected]. The nTIDE is funded, in part, by grants from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) (90RT5037) and Kessler Foundation.

As a pioneer in funding innovative programs that expand opportunities for employment for people with disabilities, Kessler Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to improve cognition, mobility, and long-term outcomes, including employment, for people with neurological disabilities.

The Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) was established in 1987 to provide a focus for the improvement of knowledge, policies, and practices related to the lives of persons with disabilities and their families. The institute's research, coupled with Kessler Foundation's commitment, aims to create a more inclusive and equitable society for all.

Stay tuned for the upcoming nTIDE COVID Update, which will provide valuable insights into the ongoing employment trends in the context of the pandemic.
