Julia Hauer Leaves Visa to Chase Poker Dreams at WSOPE 2026

Poker player and content creator Julia Hauer is heading to Prague for the 2026 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) with a fresh perspective. After leaving a stable corporate career at Visa, she is now embracing poker full-time—and documenting her journey for fans. Her story includes a mix of frustration, passion, and a determination to prove herself in a competitive field. Hauer's poker career began when male friends invited her to play, though they initially excluded her from games. This early experience shaped her complicated relationship with the game, which she describes as a love-hate dynamic. Despite the challenges, she recognised similarities between poker and her previous gaming background, sparking her interest.

Her decision to leave Visa came after a conversation with her boss, who encouraged her to pursue her dreams. The move marked a turning point, allowing her to focus entirely on poker and content creation. In 2023, she competed in the WSOP Ladies Event in Las Vegas, which drew 1,099 participants. Now, Hauer is preparing for the WSOPE in Prague, where she will join the WSOP vlogger team. Her experience will be filmed for her YouTube channel, offering viewers an inside look at the tournament. The vlogger lineup includes some of poker's most well-known content creators, adding to the event's excitement. Hauer's mission is clear: to show her audience that her passion for poker outweighs her frustrations. Fans can follow her progress on YouTube, X, and Instagram as she continues her redemption arc in the game.

Hauer's transition from corporate life to professional poker reflects her commitment to the game. As part of the WSOPE vlogger team, she will share her journey with a growing audience. The event in Prague will test her skills while reinforcing her place in the poker community.
