Joyful air and welcoming atmosphere: games and sports enjoyment at children's Olympics in the park
In the heart of North Hesse, the city of Baunatal played host to an extraordinary event this May. The Children's Olympics, organised by the German Professional Academy of Sport and Health, took place at the Park Stadium from the 8th to the 9th, and was supported by a team of dedicated assistants.
The event was a resounding success, with approximately 800 students from Baunatal's elementary schools participating. The worthy assistants involved in the children's games and the operation at the Baunatal City Stadium were led by Schulleiterin Katharina Gerhold, Sportabzeichen-Spartenleiter Maximilian Bäuerlein, and the board of TSV 1894 Obervorschütz, in cooperation with the Burggrabenschule and the TSV Obervorschütz sports club.
This year marked the first time the Children's Olympics was inclusive, a move that was warmly received by the community. The event was part of the Inclusive Play and Sports Festival, and was characterised by positive energy and inclusivity.
The event was well-attended, with the community coming together to support the young athletes. The Children's Olympics was a shining example of what can be achieved when everyone works together towards a common goal.
