Josh O'Neill-Trotta Leads Mini Main Event Day 1 at Venetian Deepstack Showdown

Day 1 of the Mini Main Event at the Venetian Deepstack Showdown has concluded with a bang. Josh O'Neill-Trotta emerged as the chip leader, bagging an impressive stack of over 1.8 million chips. The event has seen a surge in entries, surpassing Day 1a of January's 4-Flight event with the same structure.

The action kicked off at 11 AM on Friday, with the third flight beginning at 4 PM. The desk remained open for 12 levels, closing at approximately 9:45 PM. The latest the game should play is 2:40 AM, at the end of Level 22. Despite the late hours, the event attracted a significant number of players, with entries still open.

Five players managed to bag stacks larger than half a million chips, with Benny Sarnelli also joining O'Neill-Trotta in the million-chip club. Roger Javier leads Day 1b with a stack of 217,000 chips. The event has already awarded over $100k in prizes, with 14 players advancing to Day 2.

With the potential to surpass 1,800 entries, beating January's 4-Flight event which had 1,565 entries, the Mini Main Event is on track to reach a total prize pool of $600k. The Venetian Deepstack Showdown continues to draw in players, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the event.
