In a remarkable collaboration, Polestar has launched Abbey Road Studios Mode, an innovative in-car sound mode, co-developed by Abbey Road Studios and Bowers & Wilkins. This new feature aims to elevate the listening experience by replicating the sounds of the famous Abbey Road Studios through four unique presets: Intimate, Expansive, Open, and Energised.
Grammy-nominated Jon Hopkins was invited to create new music for the Intimate and Expansive presets of Abbey Road Studios Mode. Hopkins, no stranger to big collaborations and big ideas, felt lucky and had a surreal and wonderful experience working on this project in one of the most famous rooms in music, Abbey Road Studios. For the Expansive preset, he aimed to capture the sound of Studio Two, a creative space at the centre of Britain's music scene since 1931. The music created for this preset feels both vast and personal, simultaneously embracing space and detail.
Meanwhile, Jon Hopkins created a subtle, contemplative piece for the Intimate preset, evoking the quiet and private feeling of being in one of Abbey Road's control rooms.
A rising jazz star, Corto.alto, spent a day making music in Abbey Road Studio Two to showcase the new Abbey Road Studios Mode in Polestar 3. He reimagined two of his most impactful tracks for the launch, but specific details about the music created were not provided.
The Polestar 3, equipped with the Bowers & Wilkins audio system, is the only place where you can experience the Abbey Road Studios Mode. The in-car listening experience was designed to highlight its unique sonic characteristics.
