Arc Birmingham Cup Heats Kick Off Tonight

\n\nThe much-anticipated Arc Birmingham Cup heats are set to commence tonight, with a host of top greyhounds vying for a spot in the final. Here's a rundown of the favourites and contenders in each heat.

\n\nIn the first heat at 7.44, Cunnigar Yousir, trained by Wallis, is favoured to take the lead. This greyhound has been in excellent form, and its recent victories in the TV Trophy, Golden Jacket, and Regency this year speak volumes.

\n\nDroopys Flare, trained by Sean Parker, is back in action tonight and is a strong contender in the final heat at 8.36. This greyhound signaled its wellbeing with a super trial last week, and while Droopys Aladdin lowered the 480m track record, its potential inside diving in the final heat makes it a risky choice.

\n\nIn the second qualifier, Fabulous Heka, the winner of the Select Stayers, and Unanimous Leon, a potential contender, will go head to head. However, the withdrawal of Flying Desire has paved the way for Deadly Disco, trained by Richard Rees, to be favoured in this heat.

\n\nTom Heilbron's greyhound, racing from trap one in heat two, is considered a threat due to its potential to take control early.

\n\nIn heat three, Mongys Wild, the ante-post favourite, begins its St Leger campaign tonight in a £20,000 event. This greyhound, which has already won the TV Trophy, Golden Jacket, and Regency this year, is well suited to the 730m trip at Colwick Park. Chelms Bear, despite not being as effective at 480m as at longer distances, is also seen in this heat at 8.19.

\n\nThe fourth heat at 9.46 will see the participation of Vhagar, the Summer Stayers Classic champion. This greyhound will be looking to continue its impressive form in the Arc Birmingham Cup.

\n\nThe Arc Birmingham Cup heats promise to be a thrilling spectacle, with each race offering a unique mix of favourites, contenders, and surprise packages. Stay tuned for updates on the qualifying rounds and the final heat of this prestigious event.
