In a recent report released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on August 29, it was announced that the unemployment rate in Turkey has decreased from 8.4% in June to 8% in July. This decrease in unemployment rate is significant, as it marks a positive trend in the country's labour market.

The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over in Turkey has also seen a decrease, dropping from 2.84 million to 2.82 million. The overall employment rate in Turkey remains unchanged at 49.1 percent, while the labor force in the country has shrunk by 146,000 to 35.41 million.

The employment rate for men in Turkey is 66.1 percent, a slight increase from the previous month, while for women, it stands at 32.4 percent. The unemployment rate among men in Turkey was 6.5% in July, a slight decrease from the previous month's rate, while for women, it remains 10.9%.

The youth unemployment rate, covering those aged 15 to 24, has also seen a decrease, dropping to 15%. The youth unemployment rate for men in Turkey is 11.3 percent, while for women, it is 21.7 percent.

Interestingly, the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) reported a published unemployment rate of 8 percent in July, originating from this institution's monthly labor market statistics.

This positive trend in the unemployment rate is a promising sign for the Turkish economy, indicating an improving labour market. However, efforts to further reduce unemployment, particularly among women and youth, should continue to be a priority.
