Jersey Opera House Announces Debut Performance Upon Reopening and Reveals Entire Autumn Schedule
Jersey Opera House to Reopen with a Bang
After a long hiatus due to refurbishment, the Jersey Opera House is set to reopen its historic stage on October 3, with a series of exciting productions scheduled before Christmas.
The reopening will be marked by the first production, ENCORE! Welcome Home. This evening of music, dance, and storytelling will feature over 100 local performers and is set to be the first production to welcome audiences back to the Opera House since its closure in 2020. The creative team behind ENCORE! Welcome Home includes Nick Carver, Victoria Hermitage, and Luke Brown, who have been part of local musicals such as Shrek, Chicago, and Ghost.
Following ENCORE! Welcome Home, the Opera House will host an acclaimed ABBA tribute show, Thank You for the Music, from 30 to 31 January. Fans of the Swedish pop group will not want to miss this energetic and entertaining concert.
On 13 and 14 February, an Evening of Burlesque Cabaret will take place, promising a night of glamour and entertainment.
The Olivier Award-nominated West End hit The Tiger Who Came to Tea will visit Jersey on 28 and 29 March 2026. Based on Judith Kerr's classic children's tale, this production is sure to be a hit with families.
The Jersey Opera House will also host multiple productions over the festive period. On December 17, music legend Gilbert O'Sullivan will perform, and from December 18 to 20, audiences can enjoy The Rat Pack at Christmas, featuring the original London cast direct from the West End. The Jersey Bounce Big Christmas Show on Saturday, 20 December, will also feature a special guest appearance from Chesney Hawkes.
In addition to these productions, a brand-new comedy club night will start on 29 January, featuring Sally-Anne Hayward and Tom Lawrinson. Jersey's biggest show band will also return to the theatre after six years for the Christmas show.
The £12.5m government-funded refurbishment of the Jersey Opera House has been completed, and the theatre is now ready to once again serve as a hub for arts and culture in Jersey. Don't miss out on the opportunity to be a part of this exciting new chapter in the Opera House's history.
