Itaewon and Hannam will welcome back the MU:CON music festival this month.
In the heart of Seoul, the Grand Hyatt Seoul will play host to the 14th annual MU:CON, the Seoul International Music Fair, from September 10 to 13. This year's event, themed "Music PRISM", promises to be a vibrant celebration of music and innovation, attracting industry professionals, artists, and music enthusiasts from around the globe.
The conference will kick off with opening keynote speeches on September 10, discussing "The New Paradigm of the Music Business" and "The Future of Creation and Distribution Beyond Borders". Notable speakers include James Matsuki, the music director for Apple TV+'s "Pachinko", and Thomas Golubic, who has worked as a music supervisor on shows like "Breaking Bad" and "The Walking Dead".
Throughout the four-day event, attendees can look forward to a variety of panel talks, open sessions, hands-on workshops, and deep-dive sessions. The conference will cover global market trends and case studies of hit projects, providing valuable insights for those in the music industry.
The conference will also feature performances from a diverse range of artists. Notable performers include Hong Dabin, Zion.T, Beatpella House, 10cm, Saay, O3ohn, Dragon Pony, Superbee, and Uneducated Kid. Emerging artists from KOCCA's "Muse On" discovery project, such as W24, Meaningful Stone, 87dance, Kim Seungju, and Otis Lim, will also take the stage.
For those interested in the international music scene, the Exchange Stage program will showcase performances by Taiwan's rising indie-pop act I'mdifficult, Japan's indie-rock band DYGL, singer-songwriter Rejay, and Danish indie outfit Meejah.
The public showcases of MU:CON 2025 will take place at Blue Square Sol Travel Hall, Blue Square Nemo, and Cave House on September 12 and 13. Showcase tickets are free and can be reserved via NOL Ticket. Highlights on September 12 include Lee Seung-yoon, Grizzly, Jambinai, Khundi Panda, Danpyunsun and the Moments, Lee Lang, and Kisu. On September 13, performances include Sion, Hoa, Bulgogi Disco, Jooyoung, and Jaeki.
