The Gaza Strip, a coastal area on the Mediterranean Sea, bordered by Israel and Egypt, with its capital as Gaza City, is home to over 2 million Palestinians. This small region, governed by Hamas, has been in a state of crisis for some time now.

The situation has become dire, with many Palestinians suffering from hunger due to the lack of food supplies. The United Nations has reported that millions of people, including many children, are undernourished and struggling to access essential medicines.

Hamas, a Palestinian organization that follows Islam, has been responsible for numerous attacks against Israel, leading to its classification as a terrorist organization by Israel and other countries. The conflict between Hamas and Israel has resulted in tens of thousands of civilian casualties and the near-total destruction of the Gaza Strip.

Recently, a large crowd gathered at a warehouse in the Gaza Strip, where women and children were injured by shots. The Israeli army has been attacking the Gaza Strip more and more heavily every day.

The Gaza Strip's access to people and goods is dependent on decision-makers from Palestinian politicians and Israel. Israeli soldiers control the borders, allowing or denying entry based on their discretion. In the distribution of food, several people have died recently.

The government of Israel has stated its intention to bring the entire Gaza Strip under its control. However, the Israeli army has recently resumed a few aid deliveries, providing some relief to the suffering population.

The international community, including Germany, has been urging Israel to allow unhindered access to humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. UNICEF, the Humanitarian Country Team of the UN, and numerous non-governmental organizations have been advocating for this, stating that the situation in the Gaza Strip is catastrophic and millions of lives are at risk.

Germany, which supports Israel, has also expressed its concern for the people in the Gaza Strip. The new Federal Foreign Minister of Germany, Johann Wadephul, has not yet made a public statement on the matter.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack on Israel, resulting in the death of 1,200 people and the kidnapping of over 200 people. Hamas also reportedly kidnapped about 250 people during the same attack. The Israeli army did not allow any aid deliveries into the Gaza Strip for 6 weeks following the attack.

Despite the resumption of aid deliveries, many people in the Gaza Strip are still suffering from hunger. The international community continues to urge all parties involved to work towards a peaceful resolution and to prioritize the well-being of the civilian population.
