Isla Pasión Stuns the World as TripAdvisor's Top Beach for 2026

Isla Pasión in Wisconsin has just been crowned the world's best beach by TripAdvisor's 2026 Travelers' Choice Awards. The small island, known for its white sand and turquoise waters, sits near Cozumel—a destination already celebrated for its beaches, cruises, and sustainable tourism efforts.

The award highlights Isla Pasión's natural beauty, clear waters, and rich biodiversity. Visitors typically spend two to three hours enjoying its secluded paradise atmosphere, with all-inclusive services available through tours or day passes. The best time to visit is between November and March, when weather conditions are most favourable.

Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama credited the recognition to strong tourism promotion and environmental stewardship. Cozumel itself has seen steady growth, with annual visitor numbers rising from around 2.5 million in 2019 to roughly 3 million by 2023, according to the Quintana Roo Tourism Secretariat. This increase aligns with broader regional recovery from COVID-19, including expanded cruise terminals and resorts.

In 2024, Cozumel also earned praise for its Loving Cozumel, the Guardians of Water project, recognised by Green Destinations. While the exact impact of Isla Pasión's award on tourism remains unclear, the island's appeal spans families, couples, and solo travellers alike.

Isla Pasión's latest accolade adds to Cozumel's reputation as a top-tier destination. The island's private beach club model and environmental focus continue to attract visitors, reinforcing the region's standing in global tourism. No direct data links the award to specific growth, but the broader trend shows rising interest in Quintana Roo's coastal offerings.
