Isaac Haxton Finally Wins Triton Poker Series Main Event
Isaac Haxton has finally claimed victory at the Triton Poker Series, winning the $100K PLO Main Event in Jeju, South Korea, after nearly a decade of trying. The victory earned him a substantial $2.7 million and a luxurious Jacobs & Co. watch.
Haxton's triumph came after a grueling final table that saw him outplay some of the world's best poker talents. He eliminated Jesse Lonis and Robert Cowen in four-handed play before facing a star-studded final table that included Jesse Lonis, Rahul Byrraju, Robert Cowen, Danny Tang, Klemens Roiter, and Nacho Barbero.
In the heads-up play against Nacho Barbero, Haxton held a commanding three-to-one chip advantage. Despite this, Barbero put up a strong fight, having previously defeated Phil Ivey in a heads-up match. However, Haxton's skill and determination proved insurmountable. The final hand saw Haxton make a straight on the river, besting Barbero's hand and securing his long-awaited victory.
Haxton's victory is even more impressive considering his previous near-misses. He had finished in second and third places in previous Triton Main Events. This time, however, he stood tall as the champion.
Isaac Haxton's victory at the Triton Poker Series is a testament to his skill, patience, and perseverance. With this win, he adds $2.7 million and a prestigious watch to his already impressive $57 million in lifetime earnings, a third of which comes from Triton final tables. Haxton's name is now etched in poker history as a Triton champion after a decade of trying.
