On September 25, 2025, the MINT National Park Region Hunsrück-Hochwald Plus is hosting a practical training session for educational professionals. The event, which takes place from 9:00 to 13:00, is a collaboration between several partners, including WasserWissensWerk Kempfeld, Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld, the waste management department Birkenfeld, Naturpark Saar-Hunsrück, and National Park Hunsrück-Hochwald.

The training session will be divided into five stations, where various environmental education topics will be presented. These topics include climate protection, water treatment, waste avoidance, digital learning concepts, and basic knowledge about ecological processes in the wilderness.

One of the highlights of the training is the new BNE module "Rudi Regenwurm makes school" from Naturpark Saar-Hunsrück. Additionally, Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld will conduct an IoT workshop, demonstrating how digital technology can enrich teaching.

The waste management department Birkenfeld will present its "waste suitcase" for kindergartens and primary schools. Participants will also be introduced to a new 1.5-kilometer circular trail with listening stations about the Steinbachtalsperre and regional climate change.

The training is primarily intended for teachers and educators in the region, but is also open to interested individuals. Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended, as the training session will take place along a four-kilometer hiking trail between the Koppbruchweiher and the Primstalsperre.

Participation in the training session is free, and an exchange of educational materials is invited during the event. The meeting point for the training is the National Park Gate Keltenpark in Nonnweiler-Otzenhausen.

This training session is part of a series of events organized by the MINT National Park Region Hunsrück-Hochwald Plus. The organization involved in the practical training event for educators on September 25, 2025, is the MINT National Park Region Hunsrück-Hochwald Plus itself.

At WasserWissensWerk, participants will learn about water cycles and quality. The National Park Hunsrück-Hochwald will also inform about an educational offer on the traces of animal landscape designers, especially the beaver.

We look forward to welcoming you at the training session on September 25, 2025, in the MINT National Park Region Hunsrück-Hochwald Plus.
