In a significant move for the insurance and automotive industries, German Automobile Trust GmbH (GAT) has announced an increase in its shareholding of High-Mobility GmbH to 65%. This development was unveiled in September 2025.

High-Mobility, a startup founded in 2014, specialises in providing connected-car data from 29 brands without the need for additional hardware. This data is becoming an indispensable resource for fleet management solutions, as explained by Kevin Valdek, CTO and founder of High-Mobility.

With this increased stake, GAT sees itself in a key position. Thilo Wagner, CEO of GAT and a member of High-Mobility's advisory board, stated that this move allows for continued development of High-Mobility's services. Wagner also emphasised the importance of telematics data for workshops, experts, and end-users.

The collaboration between GAT and High-Mobility is also focusing on accident data analysis in the insurance business with a new SV diagnostic device. GAT is also researching with universities to determine the state of health of battery drives using telematics data in the future.

In response to this development, GAT is expanding its own offerings with the new product, SilverGAT Connect. This all-in-one tool for fleet managers combines configurator data, vehicle identification, live data, and value development. According to GAT, no other provider in Europe currently offers a similar feature as SilverGAT Connect for fleet management.

The automotive industry is undergoing a transformation due to environmentally conscious procurement, new sustainability requirements, and increased demand for consumption data. This transformation is reflected in the car buying trends, as indicated by the Automotive GAT Report 2025 which shows that car buyers are waiting and seeing before making purchases.

High-Mobility's data services are used by fleet management systems, service providers, and car subscription services. This data is crucial for these entities to optimise their operations and meet the evolving needs of their customers.

Uncomplicated and data-protection-compliant access to vehicle information is becoming indispensable. With SilverGAT Connect, GAT aims to provide more efficiency for fleets, further solidifying its position in the industry.
