Investigators Pursue Individual in the Region of the Weser
In the small town of Schwanewede, a search and rescue operation is underway to locate a missing person. The search, which began on Sunday night, has involved multiple agencies and resources.
On Sunday afternoon, search and rescue units were deployed to the Nedderwarder Weg area, near the Weser, following reports from two witnesses who may have seen a male person standing at the water's edge. The witnesses described the individual as approximately 20-30 years old, with short dark hair, and a slim build.
The search, which continued into the night, included the voluntary fire brigade Schwanewede, the voluntary fire brigade Worpswede, the professional fire brigade Bremen, and the search dog unit from the district of Osterholz. Various resources were utilised, such as a drone team, an incident command vehicle, a multipurpose boat, and a search dog unit.
Despite extensive measures, the missing person could not be found, and the search was called off around 07:00 on Sunday morning. The search was resumed on Monday afternoon after the initial report of a possible missing person.
On Monday, between 12:00 and 13:00, a police helicopter was also used in the search for the missing person. However, no new findings were reported during the Monday afternoon search.
