The Beijing Auto Show is gearing up for an exciting second press day, with the much-anticipated debut of the 007 SUV from Beijing Auto Works (BAW). The author, who has secured a press card from TheTycho.com, is set to provide live shots of this highly-awaited event on April 24th.
The 007 SUV, as confirmed by BAW's website, is the name of the new vehicle that is set to make its grand entrance. Unfortunately, no pictures of the 007 were provided in the press release, but the SUV's design seems to resemble the car depicted in a spyshot from the previous day.
In the mid-range SUV segment of the Chinese market, the 007 SUV will face competition from the Dongfeng E Pai 007 Hybrid Electric model, priced between approximately 77,000 to 144,000 RMB, and Chery's Tiggo 9, priced around 143,000 to 150,000 RMB. Luxury electric vehicles like Nio's ET9, priced much higher at about 800,000 RMB, are not direct competitors in the same price segment.
The 007 SUV is expected to be priced in the same territory as these vehicles, with prices starting around 150,000 RMB. Other competitors in the same segment include the Rely X5, Emgrand EX7, Hyundai iX35, and Honda CRV.
Meanwhile, the new BAIC BJ60 has already been launched in China with a starting price of 33,500 USD, 4WD, and 267 HP. Meanwhile, interior spy photos of Beijing Motor's upcoming coupe Arcfox Alpha S5 have been exposed, adding to the buzz surrounding new vehicles in China.
Stay tuned to TheTycho.com for live coverage of the 007 SUV's debut on April 24th at the Beijing Auto Show. The author is looking forward to bringing you the latest updates from this exciting event.
