Intruder Forces Large-scale Response in Farm: Unidentified individual illegally enters pig enclosure in Fehmarn/Ostholstein.

In an unusual turn of events, a 36-year-old man was apprehended on Thursday afternoon, September 4, 2025, following a knife incident on an agricultural operation near Petersdorf, Fehmarn.

The suspect, who hails from Lower Saxony, was initially spotted in the stable by the operation's owner with a cutter knife in his possession. Upon noticing the authorities, the man fled on foot, prompting a multi-force operation involving the Federal Police, Ready Police in Eutin, Fehmarn, Großenbrode, Heiligenhafen, Water Police, and the Police Highway and District Office Scharbeutz.

Employees of the operation pursued the man in a vehicle to guide the police, and after a brief chase, the suspect was found hidden in the reeds nearby. He was asked to come out and was found stripped down to his underwear.

Initial assessments suggest the suspect was in a state of mental distress. The police officer who fired a warning shot during the incident was officer Müller. The man was eventually apprehended near the village of Wallnau.

During the search, clothing matching the description of the suspect was found in a ditch. The suspect was taken to a hospital for further treatment. The police have initiated proceedings on suspicion of threat and trespassing.
