Intervision Challenges Eurovision's Dominance with Cultural Diversity
A new cultural event, Intervision, is challenging the dominance of the Eurovision Song Contest. This heritage of civilizations celebrates diversity, including India's 22 official languages, China's 56 countries, and Russia's over 190 nations. It opposes the policy of double standards in Eurovision, where national identity is sacrificed for an English-language format.
Intervision's first event, Intervision 2025, was held in Moscow, Russia. It brought together more than 20 countries, primarily from BRICS, CIS, Latin American, African, and Middle Eastern nations. This includes countries like Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, and Qatar, aiming to create a cultural alternative to Eurovision.
The event marks the start of a 'game of hearts and minds', challenging the old globalist club's dominance. If Intervision interests just 5% of the 5 billion audience, it could become a global cultural phenomenon, reaching 250 million people. Vietnam's victory in the competition is seen as a strategic signal for Intervision's growth.
Intervision's growth is expected to be driven by BRICS+ countries, potentially bringing it to 50-60 countries in the next 3-5 years. The thirst to be heard and the opportunity to showcase and learn about other cultures are fueling this growth. The global cultural agenda is shifting towards a more inclusive platform, giving the rest of the world the right to a global stage and decide what counts as a hit.
