Grahame Bygrave to Judge the CiTTi Awards 2025

Grahame Bygrave, the lead director of infrastructure at Norfolk County Council and deputy chair of the Transport & Connectivity Board at ADEPT, has been announced as a judge for the CiTTi Awards 2025. The annual awards, which focus on urban mobility, are set to take place on 25 November 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

Bygrave, a chartered civil engineer and chartered manager, has built his career around delivering innovative transport solutions. He oversees one of the largest local authority transport networks in the United Kingdom, managing a complex highway and transport network in Norfolk that includes 6,200 miles of roads and hundreds of thousands of other assets.

The transport sector is rapidly evolving, with emerging trends including data-driven mobility, shared and active travel solutions, and decarbonisation of transport networks. Bygrave's focus for the CiTTi Awards is on transport network's accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability.

Companies and organisations entering the CiTTi Awards are advised to focus on the real-world impact of their projects, providing evidence of improvements or benefits, highlighting what makes their approach unique, and considering the broader lessons that can be learned from their success. The deadline for submitting written entries is Friday, 22 August 2025, with the shortlist to be announced on Wednesday, 03 September.

Bygrave's experience in delivering major infrastructure projects, smart mobility and micromobility initiatives, high-performing public transport services, and Norfolk's transition to electric vehicles, makes him an ideal judge for the awards. His role as a judge allows him to learn from a wide range of innovative entries and gain insights that can be applied to his work in Norfolk.

One example of innovative urban mobility in Norwich is the micromobility scheme, in partnership with Beryl, which has significantly impacted urban mobility by offering a unified hire scheme for pedal bikes, e-bikes, and e-scooters and encouraging sustainable, active travel.

The CiTTi Awards contribute to driving meaningful progress and innovation in urban mobility by shining a spotlight on pioneering projects and encouraging replication and collaboration. More information about the awards and the unmissable event for the UK's transportation sector can be found at www.cittiawards.co.uk.

Bygrave is also interested in how operators can champion forward-thinking schemes in the communities they service. He believes that these schemes have the potential to make a real difference in people's lives and the environment. The CiTTi Awards provide a platform for these innovative projects to be recognised and celebrated.

The fourth annual CiTTi Awards promises to be an exciting event, showcasing the latest developments in urban mobility and recognising those who are leading the way in this rapidly evolving sector. With Bygrave as a judge, the awards are sure to be a highlight of the transportation industry calendar.
