Infrastructure and Mobility Authority Overseen for Bi-peaked Occurrences

In a significant move for the City of Münster, Sonja Kramer and Gerhard Rüller have been appointed as the joint heads of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure. This department, employing approximately 380 people, operates across more than ten locations and is responsible for advancing sustainable mobility in Münster.

Sonja Kramer, who will oversee the areas of urban drainage and water management, began her career in 2006 as a project engineer in an engineering firm. She joined the City of Münster's administration in 2010, where she worked in the then Department of Civil Engineering, focusing on urban drainage. Since May of this year, she has been the head of the "Water Management Planning" department. In 2019, she was promoted to head the "Water and Basic Planning, GIS" unit and became the deputy head of the same department.

Little is known about Sonja Kramer's previous occupation before her appointment as head of the Department for Mobility and Infrastructure. However, her extensive experience in urban drainage and water management has undoubtedly prepared her well for this role.

Gerhard Rüller, who will oversee traffic and mobility, has also been appointed as the joint head of the department. While details about his previous occupation are not available, he will bring his expertise to the table as the department works on developing urban drainage systems in accordance with climate change requirements and managing the expansion and operation of wastewater treatment plants.

The appointments are subject to the approval of the Personnel Council. Once approved, the department will be under the leadership of two seasoned professionals, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities of sustainable mobility and infrastructure in Münster.
