Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: A Foldable Powerhouse with IP68 Water Resistance

Google's latest addition to its Pixel family, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, is shaping up to be an impressive device. Here's what we know so far.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold, codenamed "yogi" or "9YI4", is currently in development, as confirmed by a January 2025 leak. This foldable phone is expected to offer a significant upgrade in the camera department, providing a 100x zoom capability through Machine Learning for both photos and videos.

Under the hood, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is powered by Google's latest Tensor processor. The Pixel 11 lineup's next-generation processor, the Tensor G6, may move to a 2nm process, which could close the performance gap with Qualcomm or MediaTek processors.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is reported to have a performance at least on par with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2, as seen in the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. However, it does not support 8K video recording or High-Res 50MP pictures, unlike the Pixel 10 Pro XL.

One of the standout features of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is its IP68 water and dust resistance rating, making it the first foldable phone to boast such a feature. This means the device can withstand being submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

Google is also focusing on making its displays more friendly to those with PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) sensitivity. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold's inner 8-inch display has an Accessibility feature for those sensitive to PWM, while the 6.4-inch cover screen does not. When enabled, the Accessibility feature at least doubles the PWM rate.

In terms of video capabilities, the Pixel 11 devices are rumoured to feature Ultra-low light video, with necessary processing taking place on-device. Additionally, Cinematic Blur could gain support for 4K 30fps recording in the Pixel 11 devices. A "video relight" feature may also allow for changing lighting conditions in videos.

While the Pixel 11 Pro Fold might not be a significant visual upgrade, it still covers all the bases for photographic needs. It features Pixelsnap via the Qi2 standard and offers an upgraded camera experience compared to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

As for the release date, the planned release date of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has not been disclosed. However, Google recently unveiled the Pixel 10 Pro Fold with a market release starting August 28, 2025. No specific information about a Pixel 11 Pro Fold launch date is available as of now.
